Free comic book day

It’s one of the best days of the year for every comic book fan. Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) is an annual event that comes every first Saturday in May. This Saturday May 6, participating comic book stores will give out 50 FCBD titles. (Disclaimer: Just because you can get certain comics for free, doesn’t mean you get other comics that are non-FCBD titles for free! Don’t quibble with your comic book vendor over this!)

Some FBCD titles to keep an eye out for are:

‘Rick and Morty’ (Mature Readers)

Based off Dan Harmon & Justin Roiland’s animated show from Adult Swim, this special FCBD issue will feature the story that appeared in the very first issue of the Rick and Morty comics. It will also feature an exclusive first look at an upcoming miniseries titled “Pocket Like You Stole It!”

‘Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir’ (All Ages)

Based off Zagtoon & Method Animation’s series, this FCBD issue will feature an all-new original story featuring protagonists Ladybug and Cat Noir. This will also be the start of the all-new monthly series of “Miraculous” by Action Lab.

‘I Hate Image’ (Mature Readers)

Featuring Skottie Young’s protagonist from “I Hate Fairyland,” Gertrude finds out about a secret passage that can help her finally escape Fairyland. During her journey, she crosses into IMAGE, home to Image Comics favorites including characters from “Saga” and “The Walking Dead.” Will Gertrude ever return home?

Some comic book stores will have activities such as costume contests and raffles. Hit up your local comic book stores to see what kind of events they’ll have.
