El Paso Chihuahuas
The El Paso Chihuahuas took some lumps before the first pitch was even thrown to start the season. Some people were mad about the ballpark deal, while others didn’t care for the team name. Once the team played its first game in El Paso though, it was the beginning of a new love affair with Minor League Baseball. And fans are showing up in droves to the games. The team has passed the 304,000 mark in attendance for the year, with about half of the season still to go. Aside from seeing future major league players, there’s also the great food, daily promotions, a special appearance by the Famous Chicken and a mascot that’s just a little on the cray cray side. Be sure to get your tickets days, if not weeks, in advance because the games sell out or get close to selling out, and you end up with split singles.
