El Pasoans think Robert "Beto" O'Rourke is keeping his campaign promises and improving the city. You voted him Best Elected Official during his first term as a City Council member. Beto, representative for District 8, said he was proud of passing laws that require new neighborhoods to have twice as much park space than they otherwise would have. He said he is also excited to be working on bike lanes in the city and other quality of life issues, including making Downtown a destination for everyone in El Paso.

Beto graduated from Columbia University, and returned to his hometown to start Stanton Street and, of course, run for office. Beto is a fourth-generation El Pasoan who attended Mesita Elementary and El Paso High School.
