When it comes to those in need, El Pasoans put children first. Big Brothers Big Sisters is one of the nation's leading youth mentoring organizations and proud of their one-on-one approach to reaching children ages six to 17. According to Congressman Silvestre Reyes, "It provides positive role models and friendships for young El Pasoans who need it most." And according to the statistics, a little help goes a long way: 46 percent of mentored children are less likely to use illegal drugs, and 27 percent are less likely to begin drinking alcohol. With close to 30,000 youths in El Paso in need of big brother/sister mentors, we think voters have made a good choice. Remember: "little moments, big magic." 1724 Wyoming Ave., 915-544-4203.
