St. Pius X Church
Community is the mission of St Pius X Catholic Parish, which began celebrating mass in the neighboring Catholic school gym until funding built the beautiful courtyard and parish with 42 stained glass windows. The parish takes advantage of their placement along the border by serving 120 detained immigrant children and hosting an annual Cesar Chavez memorial mass. Members are able to participate in a myriad of ministries from environmental justice, women’s leadership and youth programs focused on mission work. Perhaps the biggest draw is the story of the apparition of St. Pius face on Holy Thursday, 1955, on the tabernacle veil. That veil now hangs in the Blessed Sacramental Chapel. 1050 N.
