For Downtown El Paso, the sounds of hard-working juice-makers, sizzling panini presses and crunched crisp salads could only mean one thing: Healthy Bite is open for business.
“My mom and I went into the restaurant business in March 2011 after my father’s business got hit pretty hard by the recession,” owner and manager Paola Herrera said. “We originally just wanted to offer smoothies and juices but then it turned into bringing fresh, vegan-friendly and diet-friendly options to downtown.”
Among Healthy Bite’s wholesome options are a wide selection of paninis and good-for-you salads. Perhaps what Healthy Bite is most well known for, though, is its variety and fruit and vegetable juice blends.
“All of our juices are made fresh to order. The most popular is the Green Bull, which is a blend of celery, spinach, pineapple, carrots and orange juice.”
Healthy Bite is open for breakfast and lunch and while they don’t offer any desserts, their prices are pretty sweet and all under $10.
