The space of the former Schlotzky’s next to Block Table & Tap has been a revolving door of Middle Eastern restaurants, and its latest resident is no different. The interior isn’t very different either, but unique to the other establishments is the addition of breakfast. Yup, your dreams of combining shawarma steak with eggs can now be realized. They’re even true to their name, making fresh, fluffy pita bread on the premises.

Breakfast is served from 7-11 am, and consists of build-your-own platters allowing you to choose a meat (steak shawarma, kafta beef patty, turkey bacon or turkey sausage) and up to four choices from a list of over ten options that include two eggs, hummus, hash browns, fried cauliflower and eggplant, labaneh (yogurt cheese), falafel and more. Recently added to the menu is a breakfast pita stuffed with an omelet, cheese and potatoes.

Gyro, chicken shawarma, veggie, lamb kebab and other pita sandwiches come with thick-cut homemade fries that glisten with oil. From the grill platters are served with pita, yogurt and rice or salad; lamb and beef shish kabobs come highly recommended. Pita also serves oven-baked casseroles of eggplant and beef casserole or kafta with tomato sauce. Customization is key here, where you can top your hummus with meat or top a salad (Greek, fattoush or house) with chicken.

Turkish coffee is served, but if you’re looking for something cold and refreshing, try their lime slushie with mint. Desserts, baklava and kenafeh are also made in-house.
