Little Diner will soon be hitting the streets with a new food truck. The Canutillo restaurant is famous for its gorditas and for George W. Bush dining there.
EPCC’s Culinary Program received a grant from the USDA and UTEP to teach their students about organic, eco-friendly and self-sustaining farming practices through a solar-powered greenhouse aquaponics lab that incorporates fish and produce farming. Students are currently maintaining tilapia in a tank, while growing herbs and lettuces. Wastewater from the fish tank is piped to the plants to water them and give them nutrients to grow. Future plans include a farmers market and cooking demonstrations.
A new bar called Spirit of 66 will open on N. Oregon, near the former location of Chubby’s Bronx Deli, which closed in May (the eastside location at Joe Battle is still open).
After scouting for locations, Topgolf has signed an agreement to be in the Montecillo development on the West Side.
Boston’s Restaurant & Sports Bar plans on opening two locations in El Paso, along with a location in Las Cruces. The franchise is described as both an energetic sports bar and family-friendly casual dining restaurant, boasting over 80 menu items.
