When you create an orange-colored sauce like no other, there’s nothing left to do but start a food truck that smothers burgers and fries in this liquid gold. One of El Paso’s best burgers can be found on a bright orange food truck that’s only half a year old. Orange Cow burgers hover somewhere between classic and gourmet, where simplicity is key.
Burgers can be ordered as single, double, triple and protein cow, which ditches the bun. No veggie or turkey burgers are offered, just fresh, all-beef patties that are cooked to medium. The only modifications you can make are adding bacon and jalapenos for an additional charge. This truck usually has a line, so it makes sense that mods would be limited. Their juicy masterpiece is accented with curly green leaf lettuce, beefsteak tomato slices, American cheese, onion bacon jam and the orange sauce. The bread is soft, yet holds everything together. Sweet caramelized onions, highlighted by bacon, makes up their signature jam. Their namesake orange sauce is kind of like Thousand Island dressing, but a thousand times better. This flavorful secret sauce is balanced and should be topped and dipped with everything. It’s possible it may be made of mayo, ketchup, mustard, spices and perhaps pickle juice? You’ll just have to order a side to pick out the flavors on your own.
While the fries aren’t hand-cut, they are fried and seasoned to perfection, good on their own or made even better loaded with a smattering of onion bacon jam and orange sauce and served in a cute paper sack. Drinks include several aguas frescas that may be made from a mix, but are gussied up with fresh fruit and a price that can’t be beat.
Their weekly rotation usually includes the Westside, but you can follow their social media accounts to find out their next location.
