National spotlight:

Newly released book, "Tacos of Texas," features two recipes from El Paso's Chef Rulis of Rulis’ International Kitchen.

The Indian Food Festival will return to Downtown El Paso Oct. 28 and 29, featuring food, dance, clothing, jewelry, and henna. This year, it will take place at San Jacinto Plaza.

“The Tacos of Texas” book tour will be stopping in El Paso on Nov.19 (details forthcoming). Chef Rulis of Rulis’ International Kitchen is featured in the book along with two of his recipes. Visit the book’s website at TacosOfTexas.com.

The legendary Carlos & Mickey’s Mexican restaurant has opened its third location at 12111 Montwood. The original location is still in operation at 1310 Magruder, and the second location is at the El Paso International Airport.

King Crab will be opening another location at the former location of Pop’s Cantina at 6315 N. Mesa.

Pho King, the Vietnamese restaurant located Downtown, has closed down.
