Well, that’s three Best of the Best issues down and one more to go, and we’ve saved the best for last: Border Eats. If there’s one thing we can all agree on, it’s our need to eat. But eating is not only for survival like it was in our primitive days; it also brings a sense of joy, community and insight into people’s culture.

Nominations open Sept. 22, so start thinking of your favorite eateries and chefs. Categories will range from Best Food Truck to Best Bar Food. Mexican eats will have its own section, because with the wide variety we have along the borderland, why shouldn’t pan dulce, tacos and menudo get their own categories?

For now, I hope you enjoy this issue’s profiles on some pretty sweet spots around town.
