From the Editor Victoria G. Molinar:

I attended the Feria Juarez for the first time, which led me to ask myself what took me so long.

My mom and I were invited by my aunt and uncle to go on the last week. We weren’t sure what to expect other than a plethora of bright lights and fast rides, but we were warned about the temptation to stop at every booth.

And, boy, was that warning valid. The rides and live music were of course fantastic, but getting to know the vendors was one of the best parts of the experience. They sold everything from a hodgepodge of mole to colorful huaraches to dehydrated fruits and veggies grown in Oaxaca.

No fair that I’ve been to compares to what I experienced in Juarez. We didn’t leave until about 2 a.m.! If you’re thinking about going next year, wear comfortable shoes, because there’s a chance that you’ll want to explore for just as long.
